So I finally know what it is to be adicted to something. Not that being adicted to writing is entirely bad, but when you become a slave to the writing it is.

I can’t even explain how easy it is for my want to write and being unable to do so to ruin my day.

I now have a place to deposit and organize all my many writings. Thanks to my buddy Shawn for hosting my forum found at http://www.ageekworld.com/HeathersHideaway.

Lately I’m hitting a major wall of writer’s block but I think that is due to stress. Come the end of this week I’m really hoping to clear my mind and get some writing going again. So far I have one completed story, a bunch of half done works and zillions of ideas. Feel free to stop by and check it all out.

Ireland 2010 or bust!

This just in, well not just, but I just got around to blogging. We are on for a trip to Ireland in July 2010. Fundraising begins now and I have to get my application in by September 19. It’s just about complete and I’m excited. I am starting now planning how to raise the needed $2000 to go.

I am also making that my ONLY commitment for next summer as this summer I am doing waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. It’s come a surprise to me that we’re starting this early but the Pastors were very distressed that we coudln’t go this year so they are working hard to insure that we can go next summer.

I’ve begun a writing project all on my own that has me quite excited. It’s progressing pretty well. Makes me think I may fall way short of the National Novel Writer’s month challenge in November, but oh well. I’m still going to try that. Maybe a sequal to the story I’m working with now.

I’m writing it in our own world because I’m not quite brave enough to try and make up one of my own. It’s definitely and urban fantasy and I owe a big thanks to Ra, who has been a huge encouragement and help with a difficult character.

SO…today I found out that my trip to Ireland has been cancelled. *sad face* I was really looking forward to this trip and just about to mail out my letters asking for prayer and financial support. I am super bummed that I won’t be going now. I have my passport and no where to go now.

It was cancelled because the groups from Missippi and Tennessee aren’t going. The reason, the economy. None of the churches were giving financial support as a church but we were all still going to be able to raise our own support. I was totally ready to raise my $2,000 and now it’s just dead in the water. I guess there is always next year, but who knows what’s going to happen between now and then.

My passport arrived today!!! *does a happy excited dance*

Now I just have to wait for the group from Nashville to let us know how many are going and for what day we’re going to try and get our airline tickets. It turns out I’ll be leaving here with three others. My mom in-law, a girl from our church and her boyfriend will be making the trip too.

The excitement is building!

I found out today that the group from Nashville is indeed going. I will know by the months end how many people I will be meeting in Belfast and my Mom in law is going with me. This is an extremely good thing as she and I have a wonderful relationship. I love my in laws, but that’s another blog topic.

I also found out today that I will need to raise about $2,000. I have to have $800 of it by mid April. I need prayer support too.

So thanks to some crazy friends of mine, I discovered a need to write. Then a another friend approached me wtih a place I could put all my writing. It’s all going here, http://www.ageekworld.com/Mishiak. My solo stuff anyhow. I’m trying to get really into my writing so that come November I can do the National Writer’s Month Challenge. 50,000 words in 30 days. Yes I’m insane, yes I know it and yes I embrace it.

I realized today that the Mission Trip to Ireland that I’ll be taking beings in four months and eleven days. That’s hardly any time at all!!! I have so much to do before then. I need a tetnus shot, EEP! (Fear of needles here.) I need to raise the money, figure out luggage, get an extra memory card for the camera…maybe. I wonder if I can fill a 4 Gig card in fifteen days. *laugs at self* Who am I kidding?!? I took almost five hundred pictures in a day at Disney…this is Ireland! One of my dream destinations.

Oh yes…the point of the trip. It’s a Mission Trip to Northern Ireland to do outreach and children’s programs with a local church there. I’m excited about this. I have a passion for working with kids.
